MASSIVE MANHUNT RESULTS IN MULTIPLE DEATHS, ‘DEVIL’S HIGHWAY’ SUSPECT KILLED ATTACKING FBI AND POLICE IN STANDOFF

June 5, 2012 (Phoenix Sun): MASSIVE MANHUNT RESULTS IN MULTIPLE DEATHS, ‘DEVIL’S HIGHWAY’ SUSPECT KILLED ATTACKING FBI AND POLICE IN STANDOFF. Four FBI agents, Two Apache Tribal Police, and a suspect were killed in a standoff in a remote area of the San Carlos Indian Reservation at about 2:45 local time, officials reported this evening.

The manhunt began when a suspect was identified in the murders of Palmer Valor, 73, and Joseph Nachise, 68, both of the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Their badly mutilated corpses were found early yesterday in a locally known ‘sacred cave’ by a law enforcement team including FBI agents and elements of the Apache Tribal Police. This ‘sacred cave’ was apparently the hiding place of the suspect, who was identified by fingerprints at the crime scene.

This suspect was also being investigated for a possible role in the many disappearances in and around the San Carlos Apache reservation that have resulted in the area being referred to as the ’Devil’s Highway’.

A quickly-orchestrated manhunt followed in the hours immediately afterward, involving local Apache volunteers, U.S. Marshals, FBI agents, Arizona State Police and Arizona Highway Patrol. After three hours of searching by more than three hundred volunteers and law enforcement personnel, the suspect was spotted heading in a southerly direction through difficult terrain. The suspect was cornered by law enforcement personnel in a cave near a wash at about 2:15 PM local time. Negotiation took place, but the suspect eventually emerged from the cave firing an automatic weapon, killing four FBI agents and two Apache Tribal police attached to the manhunt.

Four other law enforcement personnel were said to have been admitted to local hospitals, but this has not been confirmed.

The identity of the suspect is being withheld, as he is currently the focus of Homeland Security investigations and is considered a federal fugitive.

FBI Director Robert Mueller issued a brief statement today, saying that once again gun violence has reared its head, and consoling the families of the fallen FBI agents.

The loss of the four FBI agents is the largest in the bureau’s history. The names of the agents have been released, and they are:

Special Agent Frank C. Bibb, 27
Special Agent Steven James, 32
Special Agent Roger Luna, 33
Special Agent Joseph A. Ricks, 28

The Apache Tribal Policemen killed were:

Officer Carl Chee, 25
Officer James Martinez, 30

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT: CHARLIE ROSE AND PETER GRIFFITH, FBI SPOKESMAN, ON THE TRYON DISASTER

April 20, 2012: Transcript of an interview by Charlie Rose of Peter Griffith, spokesman for the FBI, on the Tryon Controversy.

ROSE: On April 4, only a few weeks ago, an event occurred that some are calling the biggest government conspiracy since Watergate. 237 people were lost in one or more massive explosions that leveled the town of Tryon, Nebraska, and the nearby Great Plains Cruciform Array. Families of the victims have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the official investigation, saying that its speed has made a true discovery of the facts impossible. Tonight we have with us Peter Griffith of the FBI, who will help us untangle these mysterious threads. Special Agent Griffith, good evening.

GRIFFITH: Good evening, Charlie. I’m happy to be here.

ROSE: A massive explosion of fertilizer?

GRIFFITH: Yes.

ROSE: You seem very certain.

GRIFFITH: I am. Like the President and most of the American public, I believe in the hard work of our investigative agencies, among them the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and the ATF—as well as local law enforcement and the Nebraska Bureau of Investigation. All are in agreement on the facts.

ROSE: Which are?

GRIFFITH: As we’ve stated. A large chemical explosion resulted in the loss of 237 lives, the town of Tryon, and the Great Plains Cruciform Array.

ROSE: Is that possible?

GRIFFITH: It is, Charlie, it happened. I know that families…

ROSE: Who says so?

GRIFFITH: Well, let me tell you. We have spared no expense or resource in our attempt to find the cause of this horrible tragedy. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. But the consensus of all of our science right now is that this was a simple, avoidable accident. I know that victims’ families and loved ones are grieving, and looking for answers, and we want to help them find closure as much as we possibly can.

ROSE: Is this a rush to judgment?

GRIFFITH: Not in our opinion. Listen, we have people who are very, very good at their jobs. The best in the business. And they have been unanimous.

ROSE: I have here a joint statement by the Osborne and Arnold families.

GRIFFITH: Ok.

ROSE: (reading) “We reject categorically the notion that this horrible event was any kind of accident. We do not know why the government still is not allowing anyone near the site almost three weeks after the event. The entire site has been bulldozed under, preventing the collection of any evidence. There are no bodies for us or any of hundreds of other grieving families to touch or identify. We are told that the explosion destroyed everything, and what was left was so dangerous that it had to be plowed under. What we and the other members of the Commission for Truth in the Tryon Disaster are demanding are full and complete explanations, and we are demanding them now.”

GRIFFITH: I hear a lot of grief, and a lot of anger, and I understand both. I lost a few friends on 9/11, and I’ve lost friends in Iraq. I know what it’s like to grieve for someone you won’t get to see again, and I know what it’s like to have to trust the word of people you don’t know about the fate of people you love. But, Charlie…

ROSE: I have a USA Today Poll. On the question, ‘Do you believe the government’s narrative on the Tryon Disaster’, 88% report yes, and 12% report no. Is that a high number of people who don’t trust the government’s word?

GRIFFITH: Charlie, I don’t know how USA Today conducted their poll. And I want to be clear that our sympathy, all of our sympathy and thoughts and prayers, are with these families. But there’s another side to this.

ROSE: What is it?

GRIFFITH: You know as well as I do that there are people out there, fringe groups and such, that make a living doubting the government.

ROSE: You mean, Alex Jones, Saucerwatch, Phenomen-X…

GRIFFITH: And a million others on the net, on YouTube, who have authored these videos we’ve seen that are calling it a coverup of alien involvement or something.

ROSE: So they’re all crackpots.

GRIFFITH: Charlie, all I’m saying, and this is a tough thing to have to say, is that these families should be trusting some more reliable folks. Do I even have to explain why? Alex Jones thinks every mass shooting is some sort of staged black op. We wish they were, we could put a stop to them. Phenomen-X has been sued fifteen times for libel, slander, character assassination, and defamation of character. Saucerwatch…

ROSE: Now hold on. I understand about Phenomen-X, it’s trash TV, everyone knows that. Alex Jones, I hear you. But you have to say that Saucerwatch is in a different class.

GRIFFITH: If they are, they’re not showing it these days. We know they have a lot more money now, and their production values have gone up accordingly. We know they have that hit show on the History Channel. What they have to do with history is anyone’s guess, but…

ROSE: You’re saying that they’re hustling for ratings.

GRIFFITH: I wouldn’t say that, but it is unfortunate that they want to automatically believe the opposite of our investigation.

ROSE: What do you say about the other phenomena that were observed in the area in the weeks prior to the event?

GRIFFITH: Such as?

ROSE: The earthquakes, the strange noises, the animal behavior, the dreams that some were reporting, the storms…the Osborne murder…

GRIFFITH: (laughs) I have to explain all of that.

ROSE: Is there an explanation?

GRIFFITH: There probably is.

ROSE: But not from you.

GRIFFITH: I’m not a seismologist. I’m not a zoologist. I’m not a psychologist or dream interpreter. I think it’s strange that we expect all of these various strange phenomena—if they happened at all…

ROSE: Now come on. Many independent witnesses have signed affidavits about seeing unusual activity in the weeks before it happened. The storms and quakes are a matter of scientific record.

GRIFFITH: Let me finish, Charlie. You know how people can get carried away with things. I have friends who think I know something about the Kennedy assassination, for goodness’ sake. All I’m saying is that coincidences happen. Weird animal behavior has been noted around the time of earthquakes for centuries. If you’ve never seen a freak storm suddenly blow up, you’ve never spent a summer in the Midwest.

ROSE: And the music?

GRIFFITH: Of course, the music.

ROSE: Well?

GRIFFITH: Charlie, let’s get back to things we know about. Things we can measure and verify. Things we can investigate and examine. The agencies I’m speaking for tonight, Homeland Security, the FBI, the ATF…these are serious people. They have serious jobs they take very seriously. They know about investigating, solving, and preventing crime. They’re not trained to address the Earth speaking, or singing, or whatever it is.

ROSE: Any final words for the doubters?

GRIFFITH: We’re sorry you don’t trust us. But we’re people like you, and we’re passionate about the truth. If we’ve violated your trust in some way we apologize. But our focus is on safety and closure. Not rumors and wild internet speculation.

ROSE: There you have it. Special Agent Peter Griffith, thank you.

BLOG POST: TRYON COVERUP CONTINUES

April 14, 2014. (SemperVigilis.com) BLOG POST: TRYON COVERUP CONTINUES

What really happened in Tryon?
by Hal Jamison

_It’s a question we at SaucerWatch have been asking for the past week. There has been rampant speculation all over the media and internet: was this really an accident, as we have been told? Is a pile of nitrate responsible for destroying an entire small town as well as a large scientific installation more than seven miles away? Or is there something we aren’t being told?

Regular readers of Semper Vigilis will recall our investigations of the Great Plains Cruciform Array in the past. We have known for some time that there was secret research being conducted at the site: was this hidden research into extraterrestrial life somehow responsible for the deaths of 267 people? And why is the Federal government, in the person of various alphabet agencies, still restricting access to the area more than a week after any possible danger?_

Why is large construction equipment, including bulldozers and backhoes, being moved into the town (see photographs below)? Why are mysterious, unidentified troops with automatic weapons preventing family members from entering the town where their loved ones died? There is something our government is not telling us about the events in Tryon, and we at Semper Vigilus will not rest until we discover the facts.

The list of questions grows longer with each passing day. If you watched our special 90-minute edition of Saucerwatch! on the History Channel last Sunday, you saw our first set of questions that remain unanswered. Because of high demand, we will be airing it again tonight and tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern, with a special introduction by our founder, Dr. Denton Shaeffer.

These are the questions that we believe deserve answers that have not been forthcoming:

1. Who were the four FBI agents visiting the Great Plains Cruciform Array immediately preceding this disaster? There are no photographs of them, and no official record of their presence exists. We do not know their names. Yet our tax dollars paid for them to visit the GPCA, and either they died in the disaster—whatever it really was—or they know something all of us want and deserve to know. Saucerwatch! sources, who are reluctant to come forward out of concern for their own safety, insist that four FBI agents stayed in a chain hotel in North Platte just before the ‘accident.’ Who are they, and where are they now? What was their reason for visiting the site? And why does the local field office of the FBI deny any knowledge of their visit?

2. Why has no official explanation been offered for the various extraordinary phenomena reported in the weeks before the explosions? For weeks before April 4, residents of the area reported strange behavior by birds and dogs, insect swarms, freak thunderstorms, bizarre psychological effects—none of which have been explained at all.

3. What about the constant earthquakes that rattled the area in the month before the event? Tremors and quakes ranging from 2.0 to 4.5 on the Richter scale were recorded in an area where earthquakes are highly unlikely. And do these earthquakes have anything to do with the worldwide spike in seismic activity at around the same time? The Addis Ababa earthquake of March 20, one of the largest in modern times, registered a 9 on the Richter scale, cost countless lives, and was felt as far away as Egypt. In the South Pacific near Argentina, the freighter Yolanda Gray was lost with all hands in a freak storm on April 1 that happened after a 7.2 earthquake in the ocean floor nearby. What of the reports of islands suddenly being raised, seen briefly, then sinking back down? Is it all tied together?

4. For months leading up to the event, Nebraskans as far away as North Platte seem to have experienced yet another unexplained phenomena: a strange ‘humming’ or ‘music’ that seemed to come from the ground at certain times of day. Described as anything from annoying to hauntingly beautiful, and even sometimes like an eerie voice, the music has not been heard since the events of April 4.

5. Just what was being researched at the Great Plains Cruciform Array? And why is so much of its work still classified? Were there materials or experiments there that contributed to this disaster?

6. What about the grisly murder of young graduate student Carrie Osborne by her boyfriend, fellow graduate student Stan Arnold, days before the disaster? Was this the reason for the mysterious FBI visit? All evidence and documentation has been destroyed, adding to the grief of the Arnold and Osborne families. We may never know if this murder was coincidence, or part of a larger and more sinister picture.

7. Is it even possible that destructive force powerful enough to level Tryon and the GPCA could have been unleashed by any kind of fertilizer bomb? Experts are currently bitterly divided, with one side saying there is no possible way and others saying it is straightforward science.

8. Most disturbing at all, why was an official Saucerwatch! media van vandalized sometime during the night of April 3, 2012 as we tried to investigate the local phenomena? Were we getting too close for comfort? We posted the pictures of our tires on the Semper Vigilis site for all to see. Was this a random act?

With all of these outstanding questions, The History Channel’s Saucerwatch! and its partner site, SemperVigilus.com, will stay on the developing story regardless of stonewalling, evasion, or silence. –HJ

FULL TEXT OF PRESIDENT’S REMARKS ON THE TRYON DISASTER

April 5, 2012. (CNN.com) FULL TEXT OF PRESIDENT’S REMARKS ON THE TRYON DISASTER.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, GOOD EVENING.

AS YOU KNOW, LAST NIGHT THERE WAS A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT IN RURAL NEBRASKA. DILIGENT INVESTIGATION HAS VERIFIED THAT AN EXTREMELY LARGE STOCKPILE OF NITRITE FERTILIZER WAS ACCIDENTALLY DETONATED BY CAUSES UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. ALL OF US ARE VERY AWARE OF THE DANGER OF SUCH EXPLOSIONS, AS IT WAS THIS SORT OF FERTILIZER THAT WAS THE MAIN INGREDIENT IN THE DEVICES USED TO DESTROY THE MURRAH BUILDING IN OKLAHOMA CITY.

HOWEVER, I MUST STRESS TO YOU THAT, DESPITE THE SPECULATION IN THE PRESS, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE THEORY THAT THIS WAS ANYTHING BUT A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND FIREARMS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND OTHER FEDERAL AND LOCAL AGENCIES, ARE UNANIMOUS IN THEIR CONCLUSION: NO TERRORIST GROUP OR INDIVIDUALS ARE SUSPECTED AT THIS TIME OF HAVING ORCHESTRATED THIS EVENT. AGAIN, IT APPEARS TO BE SIMPLY A VERY, VERY TRAGIC AND DESTRUCTIVE ACCIDENT.
OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TODAY ARE WITH THE FAMILIES OF THOSE WHO LIVED IN THE TOWN OF TRYON, AS WELL AS THE LOVED ONES OF THE STUDENTS, SCIENTISTS, AND PERSONNEL OF THE GREAT PLAINS CRUCIFORM ARRAY. I AM SURE ALL AMERICANS ARE JOINING ME TONIGHT IN KEEPING THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN OUR THOUGHTS.

I WANT TO ASSURE EVERYONE TONIGHT THAT WE WILL NOT FORGET THOSE WE LOST. TO THE PEOPLE OF NEBRASKA, I WANT TO PROMISE YOU THAT YOU HAVE THE FULL SUPPORT OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING WITH GOVERNOR HEINEMAN, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN CLOSE CONTACT AS WE DO ALL OF THE HARD AND NECESSARY WORK TO HELP ALL THAT WE CAN.

THE GREAT PLAINS CRUCIFORM ARRAY, OR GPCA, WAS FOUNDED IN 1972 BY SOME OF OUR BEST AND BRIGHTEST SCIENTISTS. IT WAS THE BRAINCHILD OF THE GREAT CARL SAGAN, WHO HELPED SECURE FUNDING AND BROAD SUPPORT FOR HIS DREAM: A RADIO TELESCOPE ARRAY WHOSE PRIMARY MISSION WAS THE SEARCH FOR EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE. IN RECENT YEARS, THE SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS WORKING AT THE GPCA HAVE PUBLISHED EXTENSIVELY IN JOURNALS, MADE IMPORTANT DISCOVERIES ABOUT STELLAR MASS, AND ABOVE ALL HAVE CONTINUED THE ONGOING, EXCITING, AND LONG-TERM SEARCH FOR ANSWERS TO THE GREAT QUESTION OF WHETHER WE ARE ALONE IN THE UNIVERSE.

TO THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY I PROMISE: WE WILL NOT LOSE THE PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE. TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, I PROMISE: WE WILL NOT TAKE OUR EYES FROM THE STARS. TO THE FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES OF THOSE LOST IN TRYON, I PROMISE: WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE ESTABLISH WHAT HAPPENED, AND WE WILL TAKE ALL THE STEPS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THAT IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.

GOD BLESS THE TOWN OF TRYON, GOD BLESS ALL OF THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST SOMEONE DEAR TO THEM IN THIS ACCIDENT, AND GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

THANK YOU, AND GOOD NIGHT.

HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICIALS DENY TERRORIST LINK IN NEBRASKA EXPLOSIONS

April 5, 2012 (Reuters) HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICIALS DENY TERRORIST LINK IN NEBRASKA EXPLOSIONS. At a midnight press conference, Homeland Security spokeswoman Lisa Perkins denied any link between the explosions in North Platte and any known terrorist activity. Full statement follows:

Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you for your patience as we have been working to find out what happened and how best to respond. We regret the necessity of controlling access to the area, but this will continue until we are certain there is no further danger.
As far as we can determine, a massive accidental fertilizer explosion has destroyed the town of Tryon as well as the nearby Great Plains Cruciform Array. Our initial investigation, in conjunction with the Nebraska Bureau of Investigation, the Nebraska Highway Patrol, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has verified that there are no survivors.
We have just begun our investigation, and we hope to have more answers for you soon. However, at this time we have very little information. Our sympathies are with the families of those who have been lost. As soon as we have more definitive information, we will share it immediately. Thank you and good night
.

Perkins did not take questions.

HUNDREDS DEAD IN FERTILIZER EXPLOSION

April 5, 2012 (AP) HUNDREDS DEAD IN FERTILIZER EXPLOSION, NASA FACILITY REPORTED DESTROYED. The town of Tryon, Nebraska and the nearby Great Plains Cruciform Array (GPCA) are reported to have been destroyed last night in what local officials are calling a ‘Massive Fertilizer Explosion.’. The area has been sealed off at a distance of twenty miles from Tryon, with roadblocks closing off all except emergency traffic. Federal officials from NASA, the ATF, and Homeland Security have arrived and are conducting emergency investigations. Two large unmarked helicopters and dozens of official vehicles were seen to be converging on the area. A press cordon has developed at the official roadblock, but no official statement has been made at this time.

EXPLOSIONS REPORTED IN SMALL NEBRASKA TOWN

April 4, 2012 (AP) EXPLOSIONS REPORTED IN SMALL NEBRASKA TOWN. Loud explosions rocked the small rural town of Tryon, NE at approximately 6:30 PM local time. Local emergency services in North Platte have reported no answer to their calls to the Tryon Sheriff’s office or the nearby Great Plains Cruciform Array. Sources in North Platte report several loud explosions and a glow from the direction of Tryon.

These explosions come as the latest examples of recent local disturbances in the area. For weeks, local news has been reporting freak storms, strange animal activity, and various ‘loud humming noises’ in the area. These strange phenomena have been centered on the area of Tryon and the nearby Great Plains Cruciform Array, a large radio telescope observatory.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
